The populatoin of McIntosh County is 11,455. The population of Darien, GA, the county seat, is about 1,850. There's plenty of room to roam, and it's such a peaceful and happy town to live in.

Darien, Georgia is a seafood lover's paradise! The fishing, crabbing and shrimping is out of this world. So is the "crispy flounder" at Skipper's seafood restaurant and raw bar. C'mon down!

Beaches are about 33 minutes from downtown Darien and there are over 200 restaurants within a 35 minute drive. You name it, seafood, steak, mexican, oriental - it's all close by.

NEAREST TOWN? Well, Savannah is 48 minutes away, Jacksonville, FL is 65 minutes away and Brunswick, GA is only 20 some minutes down the road. Great shopping and lots to do in this area.

MY FAVORITE DARIEN EVENT? We love the "Blues on the Bluff" concerts throughout the summer. Many big name stars and national acts have performed here including local legend, Vic Waters.

ANOTHER HIGHLIGHT? How about the annual "Blessing of the Fleet." The priest stands on the Darien river bridge to annoint the many finely adorned shrimp boats. It's a great weekend to visit here.
